Kim Delaney is an American actress best known for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received the Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her part in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the only girl of her mother who was a homemaker and high-ranking executive of her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood with 4 brothers. In her early years she was aspired to become a court reporter. After graduating from high school and moving in New York in the 1980s, she began modeling. As a teenager the first time she appeared as an actor was on the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. The career of Delaney has been filled with numerous television films and dramas. As with her professional career but her personal life hasn't been happy or successful. She has been in the past accomplished actress battled alcoholism and had two marriages fall apart. In 2005, she lost the custody of her son.
