Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist, and fights with the UFC flyweight division. She is older than fellow UFC fighter and Former UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's professional career in combat sport started out with her debut as an Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and later defeated Suzane Mller in a unanimous decision. Antonina received a gold medal in 2007, a silver medal in 2008, a silver in 2007, and a medal of bronze in 2008 and she won a gold medal in 2011. Antonina was also named IFMA Amateur Muaythai World Champ in 2016. Antonia began her professional life in 2003. She won her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and then the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in the year 2016. Antonina's final bout took place at Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She was victorious by unanimity. Antonina shevchenko won her first professional MMA fight back in 2002 against Anara bayanova, who was fighting at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She took home the second-round TKO fight and her subsequent two bouts in the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. The result was an overall record of 3-0. Shevchenko was absent from MMA to work on her kickboxing, and she was able to make her return with Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko won against Anissa through a unanimous decision and then she defeated Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She quit the promotion and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina utilized her strike techniques for the fight to TKO Nievera in the clinch by knees on the body. After this win, Antonina was awarded a UFC deal. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters' finale in which she was fought against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko lost to Roxanne Modafferi with a split decision after she won her first fight. Antonina recovered from her loss and defeated Lucie Pudilova during UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke, and was awarded the prize of the night for the fight. Shevchenko was 1-2 over the following three fights. She beat Ariane Lipski, however she lost to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina last week lost via TKO in the second round to Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
